The Importance of self care during lockdown | AD

With millions of us once again living under lockdown restrictions, now is the time to take care of those around us, as well as ourselves. I am a huge advocate of self-care, and I believe that we now must use this time to do the things that make us  happy, which for me is taking the time to relax, unwind and pamper myself.

So, today I wanted to share with you all a couple of my favourite self-care/ pamper tips, to which I hope that you can find some joy in them too. I hope you enjoy!

Now for the majority of us, spending more time in the house means that we are less likely to be applying makeup on a daily basis, and our hair may stay in a ponytail for the majority of this month. However, I always find it best to wake up on a morning and hop straight in the shower/ or bath, depending on your personal preference.

During this time, you may choose to light some candles, get lost in the book you’re reading or, like me use some of your favourite indulgent bath and body care products. I also during this time like to take the time to exfoliate and shave my legs using my HeyEstrid Razor*.

Both cruelty-free and vegan, this revolutionary razor comes with a detachable cartridge which is designed to give you the closest shave ever whilst leaving your skin feeling silky smooth. The 5-blade cartridge is also enriched with nurturing aloe vera and Vitamin E, which nourishes and moisturises skin during every shave.

Moving onto my favourite part of pamper routine which is nailcare. Now during normal times, I take regular trips to the nail salon to have a fresh set of gel-nails applied. And whilst I do not have the intention of removing them this time around, I always like to apply a couple of drops of cuticle oil to my nails each evening, which allows for them to stay in tip-top condition!

However, if you prefer to do your own manicure at home, there are an array of incredible nail polishes to choose from, and you could even order some hand-painted press on nails from the likes of nailed_it_byemily on Instagram.

My final tip is to pick out the pamper products that you enjoy! And whilst the closure of non-essential shops may make this a little difficult, I would highly recommend subscribing to a beauty-box service (such as Glossybox). Delivered to your door each month, each Glossybox box features an array of indulgent makeup, bodycare and skincare products from some of the world’s leading brands, including Huda Beauty, Wishful and Molton Brown.

Thank you for reading,

lots of love

Hannah, x
