Hello, my lovelies!
As the UK hospitality and retail sectors are slowly released from lockdown, I have decided to wear I can to make it my mission to now shop and dine at independently-owned establishments, and as a huge foodie this is something that I am rather looking forward too. Following this decision, I have decided to document my visits through my blog, beginning with my first visit to a pub named The Scruffy Duck.
Based within Norton village, this quirky gastropub is much-loved for its unique décor and mouth-watering hearty food!
The pub also has quite an extensive drinks menu, to which I decided to opt for a refreshing gooseberry gin and tonic. However, if unlike me you are not a gin lover, they also offer a wide range of wines, beers and classic cocktails.
In regards to food, I opted for the delicious Asian Crispy Duck Salad, a crunchy mix of pomegranate, watermelon, coriander & mint, whilst my mum chose Gin Cured Salmon Gravadlax. If salmon or salad isn’t your thing, The Scruffy Duck also offers a selection of traditional dishes, including Sausage and Mash and Fish Pie, as well as a range of specials, snacks and small plates (which are perfect for sharing!)
To finish off our meal, we decide to indulge in the heavenly Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was served with butterscotch sauce and salted caramel ice cream, and it was quite simply delicious!
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and I would like to say a huge thank you to the lovely staff at The Scruffy Duck for their wonderful hospitality, we will certainly be making another visit in the future!
