Hello, my Loves!
As a beauty blogger, and an all-around makeup junkie, I, of course, have an evergrowing make-up collection, which allows me to test out the best and worst products, and in this new Hannah’s Wonderland series, I want to inform you all of the best products available on the make-up market. To which today I am beginning with the best of the base products, I hope you enjoy!
As you will be aware, I love having an illuminating base, whilst still have a primer that will improve the longevity of my other base products. To which my two favourite primers are the L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer and SEVENTEEN Skin Wow Primer. I find that although these products may be from the high street, they still glow through my foundation, and allow my base products to blend seamlessly whilst lasting all day long!
The Full Coverage Foundation
If you are a reoccurring reader you will know how much I love theL’Oréal Paris True Match Foundation in 1.5N Linen! It allows me to have a full coverage and flawless finish, although it still feels lightweight on my skin. I also love how there are so many shades within the range, so I’m sure you will find the perfect one for you.
I apply the foundation using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, which allows me to create a flawless dewy base. When combined with the Lumi primer, they are the perfect dream team!
The Light to Medium Coverage Foundation
The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation in Vanille Clair has a water weight consistency allowing you to easily build up the coverage. What I love about this foundation the most is whilst giving me the perfect amount of coverage to cover up my redness and blemishes, it allows my freckles to show through.
The Full Coverage Concealer
I am never without the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in my collection and have repurchased so many tubes, to which I have both the shades Fair and Medium. I use the shade Fair to highlight and conceal my dark circles, whilst on the other hand, I use Medium to conceal my blemishes, but only when I am wearing fake tan! Just like True Match, it is full coverage without being cakey, and it really does last on the skin!
The Brightening Concealer
L’Oreal Paris True Match Concealer in Vanilla as the foundation, a thick full coverage consistency whilst feeling lightweight and easy to buff into the skin. I once again apply the concealer to my under eyes, cupids bow, chin and any blemishes using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. The longevity of the concealer is incredible, even when it is not set with a powder.
The Concealer Palette
The Makeup Forever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette is the only colour correcting product in my collection, and my favourite ever TK Maxx Purchase, to which I found this palette for £7.99 instead of £27.99! Although I have barely used the normal concealer shades, I have been using the orange shade to brighten my under eyes and the green to correct the redness around my nose. Although the shades are extremely pigmented and look a little scary at first, when using the sponge they blend like a dream and do not affect the application of my other base products. Even though it may be a little pricey for some of you, it really is worth the investment.
The Loose Powder
I discovered the No7 Perfect Light Loose Powder in Translucent when I saw blogging besties Sophia and Cinzia using it in their videos, to which they are blessing for introducing me to my new holy grail powder!
I apply the powder to my t-zone, nose and under my eyes using the Real Techniques Setting Brush, to which these are the areas I find tend to be the oiliest, and where my base tends to disappear during the day, and the powder immediately sets these areas without changing the colour of my base or looking cakey.
The Pressed Powder
The Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent is the powder I travel with and throw in my handbag, as it is the cheapest , and it’s also the most hyped about powder on the internet!
Yet again the powder is translucent, and it doesn’t change the colour of my foundation. The only downfall is that around my nose it does tend to cake around my nose, but this may be because I’m quite heavy handed, although it does the job of setting my makeup in place.
If you have enjoyed this post, stay tuned for the second part of my base routine, to which I will cover my favourite highlighters, bronzers and blushers!
Thank you for Reading,
Lots of Love,
