Hello, my Loves!
During 2016 I discovered that I was not one to try out new products and stuck to the same routines when it came to beauty, but over the last few weeks, there have been some fantastic products that have found their way into my routines. To which today I have decided I would like to begin to share them with you, and I am starting with My Everyday Base Routine, I hope you enjoy!
First of all, I begin by preparing my skin with the combination of the REN Vita Mineral Daily Supplement Moisturising Cream and Mario Badescu Facial Spray, to which the combination leaves my skin feeling hydrated with a glow, and allows the other products I apply to buff easily into the skin.
I then apply my foundation, to which my beloved Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid has been replaced by the Rimmel Wake Me Up in the shade True Ivory. Wake Me Up’s anti-fatigue effect makes my skin look fresh and dewy, as it has a subtle iridescent sheen which I absolutely adore! Although I love the natural dewy finish of this foundation, by applying the product using the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush this still allows me to have an airbrushed full coverage finish.
Once again using the sculpting brush, I apply my concealer as once again the brush leaves me with an airbrushed finish to even the smaller surface areas on my face. I use a combination of two concealers, or as I like to call them, ‘The Dream Team’; Collections Lasting Perfection Concealer in 01 Fair for spots, blemishes and redness and LA Girl’s Pro ConcealLA Girl’s Pro Conceal in Porcelain for brightening my undereye and to highlight the high points of my face.
I then set the areas I have concealed, as these tend to be the areas where I find my skin is the oiliest. To which I use the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder and Real Techniques Multi-Tasking Brush to apply a light dusting of powder, as if you apply a heavy amount you begin to look cakey.
I then set the other areas, and the liquids before I apply the rest of my powder products, I spritz my face with the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Fixing Mist as this instantly sets everything and is most certainly one of the best setting sprays on the market!
If you have enjoyed this post, stay tuned for the second part of my base routine, to which I will cover my favourite highlighters, bronzers and blushers!
