Drugstore A/W Lip Favourites

As it gets to this time of the year, I find myself beginning to enjoy different products and shades especially when it’s in the form of lip products! It’s time to banish the coral and glistening glosses from your make-up bag, and swap them for bright reds, deep berry’s and mauve tones! I have selected my favourite drug-store products for A/W from my ever-growing collection.

Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Provocateur

Like the rest of the products in this post they may be oldies are goodies! To me this is a 3-in-1 product, moisturising like a balm, the staying power of a lipstick also with the gloss affect of a lip- gloss. For just £7.99 it is the perfect red for the festive party season! For me Revlon is one of those brands which never fails to impress me, especially when it comes to lip products. In the collection of lacquer and matte balms there is a range of perfect A/W shades suitable for every skin-tone so I’m sure you will find something perfect for you.

Avon Ultra Colour Bold Lipstick in Red Rave

This is a product that has recently just came into my collection, and I can already tell that it will become my ‘holy grail’ matte red! But do not be mistaken by the word matte, the satin feeling on your lips is a sign that this will not leave your lips dry, making it a perfect day-to-night products as you can skip your balm and go straight in with your liner and lipstick! It is also a perfect dupe for MAC Cosmetics Russian Red with a saving of £8, at the price of £7.50.

Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream in Cotton Candy

One of the main things I love about this cream is that it is very low maintenance unlike your usual lipstick, they are transfer proof than the more expensive counterparts so during the festive season it’s perfect for when drinking and eating. Once they dry, which I have found can take a little longer than other lip creams that I’ve tried, but they don’t make your lips feel dry or uncomfortable. Matte lip products tend to be more long-lasting than other textures, and with these lip creams I would say they last a decent amount of time. If you are not bold enough to rock a bright red or berry tone then this is the perfect shade for you as it is a lovely deep pink tone, and for just £2.99 it really is an irresistible product!

Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in China Rose

The formula of these lipsticks feel thick (whilst not smothering) but also are smooth and very easy to apply. With a semi matte finish, if you are familiar with the Kate Moss lipsticks from Rimmel London then they are the perfect dupe for those, and even a drug-store dupe for MAC cosmetic’s whirl! They feel nice on the lips and last a decent amount of time before needing a fresh top up. At just £2.99 and available in most UK high-street drug stores these are definitely worth picking up, and I will be guaranteed to check out more from the collection. Once again if your not bold enough for the bright shades , it is a perfect dark nude pink toned lipstick perfect for the A/W seasons.

Collection Lip Definer in Nude Pink

I love this lip-liner as it is more like a lipstick but in pencil form than your typical lip liner, although it is not drying you it does come across as very pigmented so it is very easy to over do it, although it is not matte in finish, more like satin. This isn’t so easy to make it look natural and may need the edges blending with a lip brush if over applied. It can come out quite dark if you’re heavy handed and it is also a twist up pencil which I hate but this one has caused me no problems with snapping.
